In everyday life, the consumption of junk food such as takeaway foods, pre-packaged meals, and sugary snack foods seems to be a part of children and youth’s life recently. Generally, junk food refers to any food that is perceived to be unhealthy and of low nutritional value (Smith 2005). With the increase in availability and consumption of junk food by Australian schoolchildren, the nutritional value of food eaten has been falling progressively over the past 30 years (Weekend News 2005). The issue of sale of junk food has always been debated among the school communities across the country. I strongly believe that the sale of junk food in school canteens should be banned as it leads to childhood obesity, negative health consequences and litter problems.
First and foremost, over consumption on junk food is likely to increase the cases of obesity especially among children and youth. “Central University researcher Professor Steven Reynolds said that by offering foods high in fat and sugar, school canteens are actually contributing to the problem of youth weight gain.” (Weekend News 2005, p.6) Research shows that the proportion of overweight population is expanding in Australia due to the over intake of junk food. Obesity is seen to be a serious case as it may lead to heart disease, osteoarthritis and some cancers. The problem is made worse by the fact that most young people do not get enough physical activity (Weekend News 2005).
Besides, the sale of junk food in school canteens is partly responsible for the negative impacts on health among youth nowadays. According to Tran in Weekend News (2005), Dental Association is urging state governments to prohibit the sale of soft drinks in schools because of a decline in the dental health of Australia’s primary-school children. Furthermore, students may not get the nutrients needed for healthy development and growth with the intake of junk food. In The Food Show (2005), Caputo, a child psychologist said that junk foods are often loaded with chemical addictives, many of which can trigger behavior problems, such as hyperactivity and poor concentration.
In addition, fast food packaging is the major contributor to litter problems especially in schools. We should take this issue seriously as litter is a safety and health hazard to the community. As a result of increasing troubles with litter, school authorities nowadays have to spend more on cleaning costs, and this will indirectly involve an opportunity cost as the spending can initially be used on maintenance projects that benefit the schools. Also, litter may spoil the image of our communities. Thus, there is a need to urge an immediate ban on the sale of junk food in school canteens. Smith in Family Journal (2005) discusses that schools that have cut down the sale of junk foods have consequently reduced their litter problems.
In a nutshell, I strongly believe that the sale of junk food in school canteens should be banned as soon as possible as junk food has always been blamed for various negative outcomes such as childhood obesity, decreasing health level and litter problems. Besides the effort to ban the sale of junk food in school canteens, parents should take the responsibility as well as to encourage their children to take moderate and balanced diets. Schools can also play a key role in changing the diets of young people by educating them about good nutrition and promoting good eating habits through healthy food policies. As the saying goes, “Prevention is better than cure”. Therefore, we should tackle this problem immediately before it turns into a global crisis.

Alone in the room again...
I was pretty busy packaging all the stuffs i need to bring tomorrow for the camp. Huh~ It is so tired. Just now, we were discussing about the bathing system in the camp. Do we need to bring any pail? As I know, there is a pool of water, and we are required to take bath there. It should be okay as we are asked to bring our own *kain basahan*. But the problem is I don't have any of it! Some more, I am in period now. Huh~ Why does it come now? How can I bath outside with period? Hope that I will manage to get a bathroom there. =.=
Today is on tired and bad mood. Many things actually happen. Packing the stuff is really tired. I ironed some formal clothes in room just now. I am wondering what kind of camp that I will get through start from tomorrow?
I had actually nothing to comment on this post. Just have nothing to do, and I wanna relax myself before I continue packing. My friends have gone out for dinner. I came back by 6.15pm today. It is very early. My dad got to attend a function at 7pm, so he dropped me here early. As soon as I step in my room, *Wow*, there are lots of people gathering in my room. Later, I discovered that they are doing their community service project together in my room. I am not the same group with them. I saw some pictures of their project at facebook, and it is quite interesting.
Thinking about tomorrow~
I feel tired.
Take me out from this tiredness!
Tomorrow I will wear formally together with others. Our buses will arrive at around 12.30pm. Luckily it is not early in the morning.
What should I do now huh?
Oh ya! I guess my sister is having fun with her friends now! Enjoy it, my beloved sister. Muackxxxxx =)
We talked in this afternoon. I got some problem to handle, and she actually taught me to handle the problem. My younger sister told me how to cope with my problem! funny? haha...
I am so lousy. There are many things that I can't handle well. I am always being blamed. I am already trying hard and my best to do it. Trust me okay? And give me time too.
Alright, I don't want to say so much about this. Just let it cools down a little bit.
Again, I feel tired. I do better stop now. See you guys next round. Bye =]

Sunday

425 ^.^
Today is my sister's birthday! Happy birthday to you. She will enjoy today very much as tonight she is going out with a huge group of her friends, probably all her classmates and some school mates, to celebrate her birthday. I wish to stay at home today to open all the birthday gifts with her, so that I can get some. Haha...just kidding^^ I could not stay home at night because I need to go back Inti Hostel this evening. Tomorrow I have to attend BTN, but until now I still have not pack my things yet. Wait la...by tonight at hostel, I will be packing it.
Yesterday night, I chat with my sister for almost two hours before we sleep. I share many things about my life and new experience with her. Of course, she did share her life too with me. I get to discover that she has started a relationship with a guy, which is her classmate too. How to say? She looked happy and enjoyably in the new relationship, but she also told me that she feels uneasy and awkward sometimes with the guy, just like me experienced the same thing before. haha.... She is only 13 years old now. I do not really agree to let her engage in love as she is still young and not really mature enough, but I wouldn't stop her because she has the right to choose in her life. She has to experience thing herself. For me, it is pretty okay if she promised me not to disturb her study. She has proven it to me, and I am happy too. To my surprise, she got a rank 16th in class and 20th among the whole form! Well done! Her academic performance was excellent. Last time, her mathematics' performance was quite poor, but now, she got 100% for the first test. I hope she can keep it up and worked harder! Sister, I will always support you!
She is now in love. My parents do not know about that. They wouldn't allow that if they were to know it. So, let's keep it a secret ya...thanx^^
Later, I am going out to some other things as I did not buy completely yesterday. I have not done my homework yet...so lazy... My sister almost done her project! She has finished typing and now, she is ready to print it out. I am using my laptop, so she do other thing else-decorating her project. Girls always like to make their projects looked nice =)
Let me share a surprise new with you. I was nearly shocked when I heard it. It is a sad news. My second younger brother is having some problems with his right eye. He was checked out to has a disease called "Qing-kong Eye". I don't know what kind of disease is it. From what I know so far, he is currently using only his left eye to see things. My parents actually took him to Klang hospital for further treatment. But the doctor said he will send my brother to an eye-care specialist. So, my parent can just wait for the doctor's call. Hope that it is not really serious. Haiz.......... I believe he will recover soon. He is only 12 years old now.......
Everything will be okay right? Yes!!!
Alright, I think I will stop now. Thanks for reading my post. Bye~

Spreading my feeling
Listening to musics, playing around in facebook....Nobody chat with me. Even my sister is busying sending messages with her friends. It is very boring, so I decide to write my post again. =.=
From facebook, I get to know that some of my Form Six friends are going to have their MUET exams tomorrow. Here, I wish them all the best. You all have study so hard. God bless you all! Stay calm and confidence, my friends! You can do it! Gambateh! =)
My sister has a BM folio, and she asks for my help. She got a print out of the novel summary, and she is required to type it out again. What the *H* is her teacher ask her to do? It is such a long essay, about 10 pages long. I promised my sister to help her type it out. It is a copy of the whole set. The teacher takes this as a project. What is the point? Perhaps the teacher want them to get more familiar with the story. But, as I help my sister to do her work, then she don't know the story line lo... >.< then, should I give back the work to her? But she really type very slow. The computer at home broke down already, so she can only use my laptop to do her work. Before I go back Inti hostel, she has to finish her work. Is it possible? Yes, it is possible! haha.....
My friend told me that the application result of UTAR May intake is now released, so I go to check it out for my brother. But, I couldn't find the result! Why?! haiz......so tired....
I reached home at around 9 pm something. It is a tired journey. There was a car accident on the way back, causing a huge traffic jam. I waited there for so long time, and I was damn hungry. My dad fetch me to have dinner at a small restaurant. I order a plate of chicken rice, but the worker took the wrong order! She gave me a plate of pork rice. It is okay as I was really hungry at that time, so I would just eat whatever served to me. I was quite full after that. When I came back, mom has cooked a bowl of curry chicken, and she left some for me. I managed to eat a little bit only as I was already fulled.
I feel tired now. I think it is time for me to sleep already. Good night =) muackssss!

This is my FREE time

Free. I am totally free now. I am alone in my room doing nothing except exercising my finger on keyboard. During these few months, I was spending my time fully with others, until I found no extra time for myself. I do not mean that it is not good. I just want to say that for a long time, I did not spend time on my own. I study and play, and it is enough to make me busy. Of course when I play, I relax myself as sometimes I got tensed up because of load of works. I have not practiced something for a long time that I always used to before this. For example, reading story books. I like to read because it gets me into another world that surprising or wakening me. I like the feeling when I have myself in the story mode. I just like stories as they enlighten and inspire me sometimes. It is also a beneficial way to spend my leisure time. Many of you could be asking me whether I have extra time for reading story book. Isn't me busy with mountain of assignments, tests and quizzes? Well, there are pressures from homework, but doing something that I like will definitely help me to relax my mind for some moments. In my view, spending time in my favourable way should be part of my life. But, under a competitive environment, I feel guilty sometimes when everyone is studying so hard except me. It is kind of pressure on me. I should have worked harder. For these few months, I was not studying on my own. I was going along, moving together with other. Although my timetable was quite packed with homework, but I still did not feel that satisfaction. It seemed like I was not doing things on my own. I was like just following other's step. Yes, I have tried my best in doing everything, but it is still weird! I can't get the satisfaction to convince myself that I have done a good job. Maybe I still cannot get used to the new way of studying. But, I feel that this is not the problem. The problem is the way of my thinking, maybe... Perhaps I am putting too much stress on myself. I am not saying that the current situation is not good, but this is just my feeling.
Huh =.=.....
Let's change a topic.
About my physical condition....haha^^
I am growing fatter now >.< because I eat a lot, and I am always lazy to exercise. Actually, I shouldn't be the person to be put the blame on. I want to exercise, but the MPH hall was blocked for months for examination purpose. So, I cannot book the badminton court, and I have no chance to play badminton for these few months lo...huh...that's why I cannot exercise ma. It is pretty okay with my excuse right??? hahaha.....
I did jog for a several times, but I got lazy very soon. Jogging is a really tired job. It is killing me sometimes when I was almost out of breath as I jog continuously for many rounds. I remembered that last time I could only manage to jog for 3 rounds, but surprisingly I can now jog non-stop up to a maximum of 7 rounds. Thumbs up guys! haha.... Jogging is actually a beneficial activity. The feeling of sweating and evaporation of sweats from your body is great! I feel like I release all my pressure at that moment. No joke. It is just fun when getting myself in physical activity. Practice it!
A few weeks ago, I went for a free body check-up available at my college. I was found to be underweight as I always know it. The particular health consultant asked me to gain an extra of 4 kg! When she looked at my health result, she talked to me in a serious manner, "You are underweight? But you don't look like an underweight person!" As I said before, I am now getting fatter, so maybe I was already carrying the extra 4 kg with me...hmn.....that's mean I really listen to her advice lo...such a good girl huh? haha....
Everything is okay in my health result except my blood glucose level. It was so high that the health consultant said that there is a high possibility to get diabetes! Diabetes!! Oh my goodness! How can it be? I was shocked when I got to know this. I guess it was just a wrong assumption. I went for that check-up after lunch, so maybe because of that, my blood glucose level fly so high...hopefully....Actually she asked me to go for a more detail check-up in hospital, but I just ignore it...hehe... Well, others got their blood glucose level 0.something higher but I got a 2 higher. Is that serious? I don't know. Some of my friends refused to go for the tests as they are afraid that there might be a negative result. Actually, it makes us clearer about our body conditions, right? It has no harm. But I did nothing also regarding my so-called health problem.
I even went for a blood donation on my birthday. It is going to be an unforgettable experience. I should do it more often as it can really help others. I am thinking that if that pack of blood can really saves others' life, then I have done a good job. We should try our best to help others when we are able to do so. Remember last time when I donated my blood, I felt "faint"? This time, the horrible experience does not happen on me. Luckily... Yes, I am lucky. Some people may want to donate their bloods, but they are restricted to do so due to some reasons such as underweight, health problems, family allowance and so on. I am lucky to say that I have done it two times, and I will do it continuously as long as I am capable of doing so.
It is already 6 pm++, but my dad still hasn’t picked me up at hostel. I am going back home this weekend to prepare things for the coming BTN (Biro Tatanegara). The whole next week I will be there at Ulu Sepri. I have to go through a test. This is mean for JPA as all JPA scholars are required to pass the test before they can fly overseas. There will be some physical activities as well. We are told that there will be a marathon, and all of us should finish it within the required time given in minutes. Ahh...It is tired...haha... We are also told that some of the speakers are of “special” political view that aligns to a particular party. We may not like their point of views but we are asked to zip our mouths. It does not mean that we can’t give our opinions but we are better not. If we really cannot stand with their words, we can voice out our views but in a polite manner. Or else, we can let the authority to handle the problem. That’s what Mr Yap, Head of SAM programme told us in the meeting.
I got the time table with me already. I almost faint when I first saw the timetable. I need to attend a moral class very early in the morning, at 5.30 am. It is so tired! And it is followed by a range of continuous activities plus classes. I got only 5 hours to sleep each day. For your information, I am going there for five days. It got to torture me so much!!! The wearing code is quite strict as well. For the class, we are required to wear white-coloured long sleeve formal shirts and black-coloured long pants with black formal shoes. For physical activities on the other hand, we need to wear white long-sleeve collar T-shirts with track bottoms. I have none of it! That’s why I have to go back home to buy all these!
I just call my mom. Mom said that dad is still working now. It is 6.45pm already. I am so hungry~~~. I can only wait for my dad to fetch me. All my friends including my roommate went to Midvalley straight after class today. I am alone now. Nobody could accompany me to go out for dinner. Such a pity girl!
I am typing it halfway, and I found that I am no longer connected to the network anymore. I can’t get access to Internet! Luckily I copy it to Microsoft Word…so clever right? Haha…. By tonight, I should be getting it post in my blog. It is such a long essay right? But I could not stop myself as I have nothing to do now to occupy my free time. Forgive me lah for being so inconsiderate….haha…
Dad, faster come lah please……………………..
Waiting, waiting, waiting….
Yeah, finally I receive my dad’s call! He is coming now. Half an hour later, I will be on the car. An hour later, I will be filling my stomach with food! Haha…. That’s mean by 8.10 pm, I will have my dinner. Not bad huh. But I feel lonely as well because nobody is here to chat with me~~~ Next week I am not going to study. Is it a good thing or bad thing? Is the camp fun? I hope I can enjoy it.
Well, I need a break as well. See you next round =) bye~

Sorry, Flying Kiss =.=

I have ignored my blog for so many days....no! but a few months instead! Sorry.....I am really lazy and tired to update my blog as I don't feel like updating it. Actually, not only this blog, very few times only I get the chance to sit down and get access to the Internet. I am always keeping myself busy with many stuffs and works. Last weekend, I went to Pulau Ketam. It was such an enjoyable day that I have ever spent! I never get the chance to visit any island in Malaysia except Penang Island. haha.... And by the end of this semester, around mid June, I am going to visit Pulau Langkawi, together with a group of Inti friends. I am really waiting for it =) We have already booked the flight ticket, so I will really have the chance to go on the trip. I guess this is the longest distance trip that I have ever follow. Besides planning to visit Pulau Langkawi, I will also visit my friends' homes at Kedah, Penang and perhaps Perlis. Woohoo!
That's all so far. Meet u later ^^

Argumentative Essay #1
In everyday life, the consumption on junk food such as takeaway foods, pre-packaged meals, and sugary snack foods seems to be a part of children and youth’s life nowadays. The issue on sale of junk food has always been debated among the school communities across the country. I strongly believe that the sale of junk food in school canteens should be banned as it leads to childhood obesity, negative health consequences and litter problems.
First or foremost, over consumption on junk food is likely to increase the cases of obesity especially among children and youth.

What are the potential effects of global warming in terms of climate change and how can they be arrested?
Global warming has always been an earth-shattering issue as it is being concerned by all nations throughout the world. Generally, global warming refers to the gradual increase in global average temperature with respect to the increase in concentration of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane in the atmosphere. By the end of the 21st century, global warming is likely to cause a rise in Earth’s temperature of around 2-5 degrees centigrade (Woodford 2006). This worries scientists as it may invite higher degree of climate change to the earth and therefore, it may correspond to enormous consequences on our beloved environment. Thus, the potential impacts of global warming in terms of climate change should be taken fully into attention and responsible measurements need to be implemented to arrest this problem.
One of the significant effects of global warming is the tremendous rise in temperature at North and South poles (Woodford 2006). As a result, ocean is warmed up by the increasing global temperature. According to Riebeek (2007), the world’s glaciers have steadily receded, and Arctic sea ice extent has steadily shrunk by 2.7 percent per decade since 1978. The melting of ice caps and glaciers has brought to higher sea level. Currently, the world’s sea level is rising at 3 centimeters per decade (Woodford 2006). Rising sea level will enhance coastal erosion and cause more frequent coastal floodings. This problem is serious because as much as 10 percent of the world population lives in coastal areas less than 10 meters above sea level (Riebeek 2007).
On the other hand, global warming is likely to cause more erratic weather patterns on the Earth (Woodford 2006). Warmer temperature will alter weather patterns, making it likely that there will be more intense droughts and rain events. It will also lead to frequent heat waves and natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, typhoons and storms. Residents of poorer countries who do not have sufficient resources to fend off changes in climate will be affected the most in terms of widespread infectious diseases such as malaria (Riebeek 2007). Besides, frequent cases of fires are likely to take place, which may lead to deaths and air pollution.
In addition, global warming is putting pressure on ecosystem. Warmer temperature shifted the growing seasons in many parts of the globe (Riebeek 2007). Nature’s plan is disturbed by global warming and millions of ecological creatures are going to be affected. Species that failed to adapt themselves under a hotter environment may end up facing the crisis of extinction. Also, shorter and milder winters will fail to kill some insects, thus increase the risk of damage to ecosystem by infestation.
To tackle this global crisis as to reduce the impacts of climate change, prompt actions should be taken to cut down the emission of greenhouse gases. People are encouraged to use efficient electricity appliances and end-use efficiency. At the same time, people are urged to practice passenger vehicle efficiency such as hybrid cars. Albert Gore, the main character in the film An Inconvenient Truth (2007) suggested the use of renewable technologies and carbon-capture-and-storage technologies to further address the problem. All nations should cooperate and work together as a powerful body to deal with this global crisis by forwarding the message of awareness to the whole world.
As a conclusion, global warming nowadays harms the Earth in terms of increase in temperature continuously, erratic weather patterns and pressure on ecosystem. With global energy and fossil-fuel use still increasing, major climate change seems almost unavoidable. However, according to the film An Inconvenient Truth (2007), records indicated that human do have the capacity to rise above themselves and above history with determination. Thus, everyone should have the strength to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases as much as possible and make this world a better place!

Free time

I have just finish acting. Well, it is needed for my Moral Studies project. We have to do a video about moral issue. Within a group a 5 people, finally we have decided to do a topic on BAD USAGE OF WORDS.
Michelle is the one who think of the topic. She create the story line, and we are just following. Thanks so much to Michelle upon her effort.
After lunch, we start to prepare. Everybody change their clothes as to fit the character well. There are two scenes in total where we take it in Aristotle Block. I was not include in scene 1 but the second one. I was asked to wear mini skirt or anything else that will make me look like really dress up so nicely. Well, I am going to be teased by others in the video because of my dressing.
Yin Sin took a picture of me^^
Why I look so happy a??? haha....
Anyhow, we managed to finish all the video clips we suppose to take it today. Such a good job. And currently, we are having some difficulties figuring out how to insert the subtitle into the video clips. Yin Sin said that she will try it out first, but it is time-consuming to insert the subtitle, and it is not easy to do it as the timing is difficult to control. Hope that we can really make it....add oil^^
I still have a Mathematics directed investtigation to go. It is progressing quite slow. Maybe we should make it faster (in group).....hopefully we can finish it before term break...hopefully....
What am I suppose to do now? Oh ya...Specialist Mathematics!!! Next week I will have a quiz on Chapter 6. So, I should make some revision now...bye~~~~
Good Morning^.^

There have been a long time I do not update my blog. I am lazy to write out something, but I will still try to post some words as much as i can.
This is a really good morning as I get enough sleep today. I have just wake up from my dreamland actually, and straightaway on my laptop after brushing my teeth.haha...
Wanna say....
Ohaiyo!!!
Is it means Good Morning in Japanese? I guess so...haha...=)
This weekend I am not going back to home. It is like long time already for me to not stay back at INTI hostel at weekend. I have works to complete this weekend and also next week (quiz and test). Today, it should be an enjoyful and funny day. Will it turn like the way i wish? I dont know. Perhaps...but me alone is too unpowerful to decide things that is going to happen next. We cannot predict things....
Happiness and to be rich in life is my goal. Last time Mr. Yee asked us about our goal in life, I was just wondering at that moment. A person's goal changes with time, and every single incident can change it. I am too weak, in other words, undetermined to continue moving towards my goal. I will try my best to make myself successful in life in term of reaching happiness in life and to be a rich lady. To be a rich lady does not mean to have lots of money, but to rich in the things in life that I want to achieve such as friendship, family, integrity and work.
It is still a long way to go. Gambateh^^ For me and everyone of you.
I am watching *A litre of Tears* recently, and it is still a very touching stories. Aya's determination and the way she treat her life is impressive. She is such a strong girl to be able to stand up in front of everyone, to be able to smile upon the unusual sights and words. It can be very irritating, but she never give up. She continue optimistically in her life as she believe herself that she can change her life if she strike hard for it, or at least she don't want to waste her life just like that, she want to do as much as she can whe she is still able to walk, speak and coordinate her body. She is great. We should look on her, and treat her as an example in life. Rememeber not to give up so easily. Life is given once, so let us appreciate it!
It is the time I have to say good bye. Bye bye for now, and think about my words. Wish you all a happy weekend^^

Feeling

I post two news during this afternoon. Before this, I was trying to figure out what am I supposed to do to fill up my time at home. Well, I have done something today, not bad.
I always feel like I cannot occupy my time usefully or meaningfully. Time passes very fast and at the end of the day, I think what I have done throughout the day... Sometimes it can be very disappointing when I found that I did nothing for the day!
Am I a pessimistic person? From what you all know about me, please tell me the answer! What kind of person is me? I am getting blurrer image of myself...
I am always pretending, as I always keep something deep in my heart. I dont share out my feelings through daily chating and I always take long time, lying on the bed, thinking, for almost hours, before I go to dreamland. I cannot sleep well at night...
Friends, tell me your views please!
Marks drop as kids fail fitness test
GETTING students to exercise more might not just address obesity issues, but also improve their grades.
A US study found physically fit students scored higher in tests than their less fit peers.
Test scores dropped more than one point for each extra minute it took middle and high school students to complete a 1600m run/walk fitness test, according to Dr William J McCarthy and colleagues at the University of California in Los Angeles.
For optimal brain function "it's good to be both aerobically fit and to have a healthy body shape", Dr McCarthy said.
Dr McCarthy's team compared physical fitness and body weight measures with scores on California's standardised maths, reading, and language tests among 749 fifth-graders, 761 seventh-graders, and 479 ninth-graders who attended schools between 2002 and 2003.

About half of the students were girls, 60 per cent were white, 26 per cent were of Hispanic ethnicity, and about 7 per cent each were African American and Asian/Pacific Islander.
Almost 32 per cent of the students were overweight and about 28 per cent were obese, the researchers reported in The Journal of Pediatrics.
The researchers estimated students' aerobic fitness according to their times on a flat track.
With a 15-minute maximum allowed time to complete the test, the boys averaged slightly less than 10 minutes, while the girls averaged a little less than 11 minutes.
Mr McCarthy's team found that nearly two-thirds of the students (65 per cent) fell below the state fitness standard for their age and gender.
Compared with these students, students who met or exceeded fitness standards had higher average test scores.
Allowing for age, social and economic status, gender, ethnicity, and body size did not significantly alter this association.
Compared with students of desirable weight, overweight and obese students also scored significantly lower on tests, the researchers found.
MY COMMENT:
Research found that fitness can ensure grade improvement.
From what everyone knew, fitness can bring health, but now fitness helps students to achieve higher score! Will it encourage more students to exercise more?
It is a healthy movement anyway, but the motivation is different now. People may think of encouraging their kids to exercise in order to place their children on a better grade. Education is now related to health.

TWO teenage girls snatched another teenager's unborn baby from her womb in a crude caesarean operation, Colombian newspaper El Tiempo reported.
The two unnamed girls, aged 14 and 16, assaulted Maria Amparo Rivera Girata, 18, in the small town of Duitama, northern Colombia, on Monday.
According to El Tiempo, the pair held a knife to Ms Girata's throat and tied her up, before cutting her uterus open and removing the infant. Ms Girata, who was seven months pregnant, was later found still conscious with severe abdomen injuries.
The two girls were arrested with the baby, who survived the ordeal, soon after.
The 16-year-old suspect reportedly miscarried during a previous pregnancy and plotted to steal Ms Girata's infant to replace her own, in order to stop her boyfriend finding out.
Ernesto Giraldo, head of Boyaca hospital's intensive care unit, told El Tiempo that it was possible a third person with knowledge of caesarean surgery was present.

"It's remarkable that these two girls could have conducted this surgery without injuring other organs close to the uterus," he said.
"All the more if you bear in mind that the victim was supposedly awake and struggling, trying to prevent them from removing her child."
Ms Girata was in a critical condition overnight in hospital and her two month premature baby boy is said to be recovering satisfactorily in an incubator.
My comment:
Unbelievable!
Teenagers nowadays do such thing!
Pity the victim. She is awake while the cruel surgery is being carried out by only two little girls!
Well, a third person may guide them throughout the process. How dare the teenagers are! What would be the society's reaction towards the two little girls? Unforgiveness? A second chance? They are still 14 and 16 years old...
Well, what cause this incident to happen?
I guess there is a lack of parental guidance and a lack of LOVE. Peer pressure leads to the problem as well. The only way the teenagers thought of is to get other's baby to replace hers. There are other ways to solve the problem faced, but may be they weren't dare to bring this topic to their parents, plus the pressure given by the guy, they end up making this mistake.
MISCARRY-is to give birth to a baby before it is fully developed and able to live. The girl lose her baby, thus she was struggle to get her baby back. She made a wrong decision, but what had contributed to her fault?!
What is your opinion?
Two months premature, but baby survives
Third person may have been present

Release
That is the word i can think of to decribe my feeling now. After going through the hardship, I feel more relax and release now~~~
NO more crying, no more hate... i know that I cant hate myself... i have to do my best tomorrow afterall...no matter what kind of result is awarded from my hardwork, I have put my best effort and that is enough for me. Because I have already do my part!!!^^
Dont worry guys, i know u love me and I love u all too... I will stay strong always and be a good girl. I am not so easily pushed down by pressure! I got the way to cope with it, and I laugh a lot just now, and all the pressure gone, at least for tonight, making me happier^^
I still got many challenges waiting for me, and I will strike them down and go through it. With your support, I believe I CAN DO IT!!!
I CAN DO IT!!!
Actually I face many ups and downs frequently, and I have no idea to cope with it...that's why I cant get back to myself. My friends said that I have changed a lot. Ya, I do agree with it. Without me notice, I changed and i am changing. Something good plus something bad, i do always wish that i can improve myself in terms of relationships, EQ and IQ. EQ is the most difficult task for me, for I lost control sometimes. It is really bad and it hurts many. To think before I act or before say out something that may hurt others is always my goal. BUt i am the kind of stupid because I hurt others always without me realise... sorry... it makes me guilty. And I am a coward person too...everything can be linked up to make me hate myself.
BUT
IMPOSSIBLE IS I-M-POSSIBLE
Everything is possible to change. There is always room for improvement. Just believe in ourselves and move towards our goals, so that satisfaction is achieved, people are happy.
Enough for today, bye^^ see u soon....

The last day at Inti's computer lab before CNY!!!
I am now sitting in front of computer in lab, posting my blog of course and playing around in facebook. I have already neglected my blog and facebook as well as msn for a very long time because I have too much tests, quizzes and assignments to do before CNy. Now, I get released because all of the tasks have been finished by yesterday. What a Great day I have passed through!!!
I celebrated Friend's birthday yesterday night together with a huge group of Inti's friends. We played around at the dining hall, and therefore we were scolded by Mr. Guard..haha...However, we did clean up the floor and clear off the stuff after the *game*. It was fun and enjoyable. But we stayed there for almost 3 hours!~ The reason behind was we were actually gambling last night. Hmn....illegal night o.O
I got some surprises on yesterday night too as I received some special present yesterday...but I was not allowed to open it until I get the instructions...too bad...I need to wait but it will increases my curiosity even more! hehe....but I will obey the rule, so I will not going to open it before I receive any instruction...see, I am a good follower...haha^^
Well, I am going back home today to celebrate CNY...Yeay!!!^^
I have already waiting for it for a long long time. It finally comes...haha...
Almost all my friends go back earlier than me >.< but nevermine...I will be back also wat...somebody told me that I need to be more independent...so, It is actually a good opportunity for me to learn up!
I havent pack up all my stuff; I will be doing it later but i am so so tired because I slept only 3 hours yesterday...tired...
Okaylah...I need to leave now...bye bye...see you^^

*Negative Externalities of Consumption*- Government's stategy may not work?
Raising drinking age to 21 'unworkable'
From: AAP February 09, 2010 5:04PM
A SUGGESTION by Prime Minister Kevin Rudd that the legal drinking age be raised to 21 may not be workable, Queensland Premier Anna Bligh says.
Mr Rudd said last night that he would personally like to see the legal drinking age lifted to 21, after linking high rates of P-plater road deaths to alcohol consumption.
Ms Bligh said she recognised binge drinking was an increasing problem that put young people and others in harm's way and understood where Mr Rudd was coming from.
But she did not fully support the move.
"On this issue I probably fall on the side of the argument that says the horse may well have bolted," she said.
"And whether you can turn the clock back I think is a pretty difficult question.
"... I'm not sure that it's entirely workable."
She said she welcomed a discussion on the drinking age but said the issue went to what age a child became an adult.

Eighteen-year-olds could vote to change government, get married, have children, enter into legally-binding contracts and were treated as adults by the justice system, Ms Bligh said.
"We're really asking the question about when does a young person become an adult and the answer to that has a lot of repercussions way beyond the legal drinking age," Ms Bligh said.
She said most young Australians learned how to drink responsibly very quickly, although some did not.
Ms Bligh said she expected some discussion on the topic at upcoming Council of Australian Governments (COAG) meetings as any move to change the drinking age would need to be a national one.
My comments:
I think setting a limit over a drinking age may not work in the way government wish to see. It plays around human's control on whether they can control themselves to not overconsume alcohol. It depends largely on people's responsiveness and maturity. Once people undestand that how serious the negative impacts that alcohol can bring in, they will stop or drink responsibly. So, it varies in every country because people in different country reach maturity in different age level. Anyway, consuming of alcohol really leads to many negative outcomes, so teenagers should not simply try it under curiosity. Society need to be more alert!
